RECENT CRIME NEWS:
41xx M STREET — Robbery by Handgun – The complainant states on 2/6/19 at 12:45am, he was walking south bound on 41xx M Street when the two unknown h/m offenders approached him. The offenders told him to empty his pockets. The offenders who were both armed with guns put the complainant on the ground, and took his wallet, $1,500.00 cash and his Boost Mobile Android cell phone, then fled the location.
38xx PALMETTO ST. — The complainant states on 2/12/19 at 7:55pm he received a call to deliver pizza to 38xx Palmetto St. Upon arrival at the location the delivery driver was approached by the (2) two offenders (two black males, early 20’s, dark hoodies), who got into his 2013 Toyota Rav 4. The offenders began to drive off. When the complainant intervened, the vehicle struck him as, and he fell to the ground causing injuries. The offenders fled north bound on Palmetto St. in the complainant’s vehicle. Medic 2 transported the complainant to Temple Hospital.
19xx E. VENANGO ST. — The complainant states on 2/15/19 at 1:33pm while outside of 19xx E. Venango St, she and the offender were involved in a verbal dispute. The offender then stated she was going to run her over. The offender ran over the complainant’s foot, got out of the vehicle and instigated a physical altercation. The offender was gone upon police arrival. The complainant refused medical attention.
13xx E. ERIE AVE. — The complainant states on 2/17/19 at 5:33pm she was standing in line in the Wawa store at 1300 E. Erie Ave. when the offender lit her hair and jacket on fire while he was standing behind her. The offender was arrested, and transported to East Detectives Division for processing. Cameras on location. Complainant’s black jacket placed on property receipt. (1) green Bic lighter was recovered from the offenders right front pocket. The offender was arrested. He has nine (9) priors including: Possession with Intent to Deliver, narcotics possession; one burglary, DUI, and threats.
Increase in vehicles, left unattended with keys inside, being stolen — The 24th District has reported an increase in vehicles left parked, unattended, being stolen with the keys left inside. Remember to never leave your vehicle running unattended. Remove your keys and lock your doors. This practice is not only dangerous, but also illegal.
