Commercial Burglaries – 24th District, PSA 1

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES – SEPTEMBER 2019

1500 E. ERIE AVE. — The night manager for Family Dollar at 1500 E. Erie Avenue states on 9/5/19 at 1:24 am he was working in the rear of the store when the offender (black or hispanic male, beard, dark short sleeved t-shirt, black sneakers with thick white bottoms) threw a large rock through the front door and entered the business. The offender then fled the location and ran eastbound on Erie Avenue when the manager grabbed a large stick and charged the front door.

1240 E. ERIE AVE. — On 9/11/19 at 1:08 am police responded to the Dollar General store at 1240 E. Erie Avenue for a report of burglary alarm coming from the emergency exit door, which was open. Police surveyed the property with complainant who stated various food items were taken from the rear storage area. While police were surveying the area they observed the offender, a 32 year old white male, pushing a cart with various merchandise. The male was stopped by police and the complainant was positively identified the merchandise that was taken from the store. Police arrested the offender and he was transported for processing. All items were returned. The offenders had one (1) prior: Possession with Intent to Distribute.

1820 TORRESDALE AVE. — The manager for Dunkin Donuts at 1820 Torresdale Avenue states on 9/14/19 at 12:45 am he observed the offender (black male, goatee, black baseball hat, white t-shirt, blue shorts, black/white sneakers) on surveillance video breaking into the drive through window and entering the property. The offender then entered a rear room where he took $130.00 cash from the till. The offender fled the location through the back door. The complainant recovered a sweater near back door where offender had exited the location. A bent screwdriver and a knife were recovered outside the rear door with a paper towel.
