Virtual Ceremony for National Vietnam POW/MIA Monument

The dedication of the National Vietnam POW/MIA Monument will go forward on Sunday, March 29 — National Vietnam War Veterans Day — at 12:00 noon .

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, and out of concern for the safety of those who might want to attend, the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial has announced that it will be a VIRTUAL CEREMONY — The virtual presentation will be available at noon on Sunday, March 29th at the Memorial’s Facebook page:   https://www.facebook.com/Philadelphia-Vietnam-Veterans-Memorial-478560822159698/

After a 30-month campaign and completed construction, the Monument to those from the Vietnam War had been set for Sunday, national Vietnam War Veterans Day, but like most other public events was cancelled. Not to be deterred, the Memorial opted for a five-minute presentation, featuring former POW Ralph Galati, which describes how the monument was built, the meaning of its design and a video of the actual Monument at the Memorial.
