Crews are gutting the inside of the former Northeast Catholic High School Rectory on Torresdale Avenue. With all of the windows removed, the window frames were being torn out yesterday , and heavy machinery arrived on site.

Passersby said that homeless people have been sleeping in the building for awhile.

The massive building was referred to as “The Priest House”, according to Jim Ridgway, a North Grad. It used to have a bridge that connected it to the school next to it.
Northeast Catholic High School at 1842 E. Torresdale Avenue closed in 2010 and was sold in 2011 to Marianna Bracetti Academy High School. The Priest House has been vacant.
