Personal Information Was Accessed in MeterUp App Hack

ParkMobile is alerting customers who pay for parking using the meterUp app, that hackers have accessed some of their personal information.

One of the meters, pictured recently on the 3200 block of Kensington Avenue, was clearly abused on the outside.  Hackers have now abused customers’ information on the app.

The hack happened during the month of March, the same month that the meterUp payment kiosks were installed in the Kensington business corridor.

Data that was accessed include license plate numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses. In some cases, mailing addresses were also accessed.

Users are urged to change their password in the settings section of the app.
